Privacy Policy

Mornistil ("we", "us") builds a fitness app that helps you track your training, nutrition, and sleep, and turns them into a single weekly score. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you have over your data. We designed Mornistil to be privacy-first: your health data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

1. Data we collect

• Training data — workouts, exercises, sets, reps, weights, and personal records you log.
• Nutrition data — foods, meals, calories, macros, and micronutrients you log.
• Sleep data — sleep duration read from Apple Health (with your permission), or entered manually.
• Account data — if you create an account: your name, username, email address, optional profile photo, and bio.
• Social data — posts, comments, friends, and messages you create within the app.

We do not sell your data, and we never share your health data with advertisers.

2. Apple Health

Mornistil reads sleep (and optionally steps and workouts) from Apple Health only after you explicitly grant permission. This data is read-only — we never write to Apple Health — and you can revoke access at any time in the iOS Health app. If you decline, the app still works; you can log sleep manually.

3. How we use your data

• To calculate your weekly Mornistil Score and personalized nutrition targets.
• To generate insights that connect your training, nutrition, and sleep.
• To power social features you opt into — the feed, friends, leaderboards, and messages.
• To email you about your waitlist signup and, if you opt in, product updates.

4. Storage and security

Your logged training, nutrition, and sleep data is stored locally on your device by default. If you create an account, profile information and any content you choose to share socially (posts, your score, messages) are stored securely in Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Storage), protected by access rules that limit data to you and the friends you accept. Data in transit is encrypted over HTTPS.

5. Your rights

• Access & export — request a copy of the data associated with your account.
• Deletion — delete your account and associated cloud data at any time from within the app or by emailing us.
• Control — choose your privacy level (public, friends-only, or anonymous) and exactly what's shared.
• Revoke permissions — turn off Apple Health or notification access at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Third-party services

We use Google Firebase for authentication, database, and storage. Nutrition lookups may use the USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts APIs, and the exercise library may use ExerciseDB. These providers process data only to deliver their service. Email collected via our waitlist is handled by our email/form provider solely to contact you about the launch.

7. Children

Mornistil is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
